NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE GOVERNING BOARD OF THE SAN GABRIEL BASIN WATER QUALITY AUTHORITY TO CONSIDER AND APPROVE FOR SUBMISSION TO THE CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE SAN GABRIEL BASIN WATER QUALITY AUTHORITY ACT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at 9:00a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the governing board of the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority (the “Board”) will conduct a public hearing (the “Public Hearing”) to consider and approve for submission to the California Legislature proposed amendments to the San Gabriel Basin Water Quality Authority Act codified under Chapter 134 of the California Water Code Appendix. The proposed amendments will:
- Modify procedures for the filling vacancies to Board seats occupied by primary Board members and alternate Board members for cities with pumping rights and cities without pumping rights; and
- Eliminate the requirement to prepare an annual 404 Plan and consolidate the reporting elements of the 404 Plan into the Authority’s annual 406 Plan to eliminate reporting redundancy.
The Board will hold the public hearing to receive testimony, orally and in writing from interested members of the public and from Authority staff regarding the proposed legislative amendments. The public hearing is scheduled for:
